GRANT BLANKENSHIP/THE TELEGRAPH.WRALL pitcher Avery Lamb puts a ball through an upright tire to win the pitching skills competition on the first day of the Little League Softball World Series in Beaverton, OR, Wednesday. After the first round of the competition, three of the nine pitchers were tied at 2 through the tire apiece. Avery was the only one of those three to get the ball through the tire in the tie breaking round.
